Well let’s say you have a friend over and they would like to borrow your car to go and pick up something from the store. Along the way something happens and you get a phone call that they just got in to an accident. I bet your next question is what will happen to your car? Is your car going to be covered , is their car going to be covered. So many unanswered questions. Well let me start off and give you a sigh of relief and tell you yes they are covered and so are you. As long as you gave them permission to drive and they had your consent. But if they are regularly borrowing your car then they would need to be added to the policy then. Why? Because if it happens more than once they can start an investigation and even deny your claim that way as well. It’s very important to watch out and protect yourself along with others at all times. You would never want to be denied for a claim or even be held responsible. It’s a very simple step in adding someone to your policy. Also if your married then you would also qualify for a discount as well whether if your spouse is going to drive the vehicle or not. It is mandatory to list everyone in the house hold. So don’t look at it in a bad way when adding additional people in your household because if they are not listed and you do get in to an accident then that claim can be denied. Because it was not done the correct way. So just be on the safe side and take care of everything the correct way and make the necessary changes to be in good standings.
